OUR SPONSORS: OUR CORPORATE PARTNERS: CHIP GANASSI RACING: Chip Ganassi Racing: Chip Ganassi created his own one-car Indy car team in 1990. Today, his racing empire includes entries in the NTT INDYCAR SERIES and NASCAR Cup Series. Chip Ganassi Racing's open-wheel teams have amassed 12 total championships and more than 100 wins, while overall his teams can claim 19 championships and more than 220 wins. Chip Ganassi Racing solidified its place in open-wheel racing history, becoming the first team to amass four consecutive CART championships with Jimmy Vasser (1996), Alex Zanardi (1997-98) and rookie Juan Pablo Montoya (1999). MP Racing team co-owner Mark Plourde has also driven for Chip Ganassi Racing during his time in the CART / Champ Car World Series during the 1990's and early 2000's. Following a switch from CART to the NTT INDYCAR SERIES in 2003, Ganassi and driver Scott Dixon captured the championship. Dixon claimed his second title for Ganassi in 2008, while Dario Franchitti won three straight series titles from 2009-11, allowing the team to amass another four consecutive Indy car titles. Dixon won his third title with a dramatic rally in the final third of the 2013 season, claimed the 2015 title on a tiebreaker after claiming a win in the season finale, and solidified his legendary status with his fifth championship in 2018. In 2010, Ganassi was responsible for the first American auto racing "Triple Crown" (Daytona 500, Indianapolis 500 and Brickyard 400 wins) and added the first-ever "Chip Slam" of motorsports to his resume with a victory in the 2011 Rolex 24 At Daytona (holding all four major titles at one time). New for 2020 Mark Plourde returns to Chip Ganassi Racing for the first time in well over 19 years, this time as a team partner on Scott Dixon's #9 car and Felix Rosenqvist's #10 car in the NTT IndyCar Series. DALE COYNE RACING: Dale Coyne Racing is a long-standing staple in open-wheel racing. Starting in 1984 as a driver/owner, Dale Coyne ran several seasons of Indy car / CART races. For several years the team raced with a stock block engine, making Coyne a fan favorite. With the technical expertise of Mr. Coyne, the team built its own chassis in 1986, known as the DC-1. Stepping out of the cockpit in 1990, Dale Coyne turned his talents to the tutelage of several up-and-coming drivers. From Dean Hall in 1990 to Paul Tracy in 1991 and beyond, Coyne’s ability to recruit and coach drivers has shown well for drivers who have competed with this seasoned team. Before making the transition to the Verizon IndyCar Series full time in 2008, the team competed in the Champ Car World Series with drivers such as Oriol Servia, Cristiano da Matta, Katherine Legge, Bruno Junqueira, Alex Barron and Michel Jourdain Jr. During the 1990's NFL Hall of Fame running back Walter Payton was part owner of what was then called Payton-Coyne Racing. After Walter Payton's death, the team was renamed back to Dale Coyne Racing. In 2017 Dale Coyne Racing joins forces with MP Racing in a partnership to field a car for four time champion Sebastien Bourdais in the Verizon IndyCar Series. Dale Coyne Racing recorded its first victory in July 2009 at Watkins Glen International with Justin Wilson behind the wheel.
